The valley of Dog Dreams (Montefortino, Vetice)
🧭 Trail Notes: Although relatively short, this trail offers almost everything a dog could wish for: shade, easy terrain and plenty of water — especially in spring, when the Tenna River is fed by snowmelt from the surrounding mountains.
This is not a true circular route unless you are willing to wade through the water, but that is hardly a disadvantage. The trail follows the river and provides countless opportunities for dogs to explore, splash around and simply enjoy themselves.
For those feeling a little more adventurous, a short detour down to the riverbed is highly recommended. On warmer days it is the perfect place for a refreshing swim and a well-deserved break.
This route is ideal if you simply want to spend an hour or two letting your dog be a dog — running, sniffing, playing and enjoying nature at its best.
As a bonus, the scenery is spectacular. The valley is surrounded by the peaks of the Sibillini Mountains Sibilla and Priora, creating a beautiful and peaceful setting that makes this short walk well worth the visit.
🐾 Shira’s Verdict: „One of my favourite places so far!
Water everywhere, lots of shade and plenty of opportunities to explore.
The river is perfect for cooling off, and if you’re lucky, your human might even join you in the water.
Not the longest trail, but definitely one of the most fun.“ 😄
