Dog friendly trails in the National Park of the Monti Sibillini

The trails featured here are explored and tested together with Shira in real mountain conditions — from quiet forest paths to high alpine routes with spectacular views and refreshing water sources along the way.

Please always remember to bring enough water for your dog, especially during the warmer months. While many trails include springs or streams, natural water sources can never be fully guaranteed.
Trail conditions and situations can vary greatly, so always use good judgement and respect nature, wildlife and other hikers.

The estimated hiking times usually refer to pure walking time and can easily become longer if you stop along the way to rest, take photos or simply enjoy the landscape and the atmosphere of these mountains.

Please note: Dogs are permitted on most official trails in the Monti Sibillini National Park when kept on a leash. Some specific protected routes have restrictions. Always stay on marked trails and check current regulations before hiking. You may notice Shira off leash in some of the photos.
This is mainly for photography purposes and only in situations where it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Shira has a very reliable recall, especially around wildlife and other hikers, but every dog and every situation is different. Please always respect the regulations of the Sibillini National Park and use good judgement on the trail.
